German companies are an ideal partner to support Taiwan with its energy transition efforts. Since the initiation of the energy transition policy by the German government in 2010, renewable energies have been growing constantly in Germany. In 2018, renewable energy already made up approximately 17% of the final energy consumption and even 37.8% of the gross electricity consumption. Thus, electricity generation from renewable energy sources amounted to almost the same proportion as lignite and hard coal combined. Wind energy remained the largest renewable energy source with a share of 49.5% and covering 18.6% of the overall gross electricity consumption in Germany.

Thus, German companies have gained extensive experience over the last two decades in the field of renewable energies and are willing to share their know-how with Taiwanese partners. DEinternational, the service unit of the German Trade Office Taipei, will organize a German Pavilion that will bring the following two renowned German companies to Taiwan:
TÜV Rheinland Taiwan Ltd. (K0230)
Formosan Business Support Co., Ltd. (K0331)
All of them are experts in their fields, among them a development bureau as well as companies covering the fields of consulting services, engineering and installation of renewable energy sources.
